Binkie Bites: Bolognese

By Chelsea on Tuesday, October 4, 2016

I feel like there aren’t many toddlers that don’t like spaghetti. If they don’t, they usually still like noodles with butter. Sometimes it’s not what you serve a toddler, it’s how you serve it. I love to have Cora help make her dinner. It gets her more excited and interested in eating. She is still too …

Binkie Bites: Black Bean Grilled Cheese

By Chelsea on Wednesday, September 28, 2016

Disneyland is a place we frequent often these days. We are annual pass holders, so it’s become a favorite way to pass some time. Cora is now at the age where she is curious what we are doing today, and with whom? She will ask the night before, “what are we doing next?”. “We go …

Cropped

By Chelsea on Monday, September 26, 2016

Cropped tops aren’t easy to wear and look good. By good- I mean, it’s usually not flattering, and in most cases appropriate. As a mom it’s definitely not functional. But cropped tops are on trend and I’ve had this cropped sweater the past few seasons. It wasn’t something I could wear pregnant, so I’m looking …

Binkie Bites: Steak Dinner

By Chelsea on Thursday, September 22, 2016

It’s not often we get to eat as a whole family with the kiddos bed time so early. I always sit with my toddler and the baby when they eat, but I usually wait to eat my dinner when my husband gets home, after kids are in bed, usually a few hours later. When we eat …

Mom Off Duty

By Chelsea on Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Last week I got to leave the kids at home and go to a screening of the new NBC show “This Is Us” staring Mandy Moore. The show was amazing! I can’t wait to see the second episode. I took advantage of my time out and wore this gold, lame, pleated skirt from ZARA, that …

This Is Us

By Chelsea on Monday, September 19, 2016

Family. We all have one. Love them, or hate them. Big or small. I’m a sucker for a good family movie or TV show. It reminds me that I wouldn’t trade my family for another, and in some instances that my family isn’t that bad. It also humbles me as I realize that there are …

Lula Roe

By Chelsea on Friday, September 16, 2016

In the mommy community point of sale businesses are the new wave. I’m not a big fan, it’s not my thing, but I like to be supportive of other moms doing what they do. That said, my first impression of Lula Roe was that it’s really not my style. I’d see the ladies wearing the …

Change is Good

By Chelsea on Wednesday, September 14, 2016

For the past 2 plus years I’ve been casually blogging as a hobby. I’m overwhelmed at the support I’ve received. While it hasn’t been consistent, it has given me a creative outlet that I desperately needed in my new adventures of stay-at-home mommyhood. So thank you from bottom of my heart! After our move into …

Graphic Vest

By Chelsea on Tuesday, September 6, 2016

Im going to sound like a broken record for the next few weeks, maybe months… Layers, Layers, LAYERS!!!! Summer to Fall transition is all about layers. I love the romance the ruffled tank gives under this structured graphic vest. Ruffles and menswear are both going to be big into the Fall season. These booties hit …

10 Makeup Tips for Everyone

By Chelsea on Thursday, August 25, 2016

As a stay-at-home mom I don’t always get to wear the full face of makeup I’d like to, but I still use it daily. As a former makeup artist, I promised myself I wouldn’t let being a mom alter my love and obsession with makeup, and I haven’t. There is a pretty big difference between …

Of the 20 Middle Grade, Chapter Books we read a lo Of the 20 Middle Grade, Chapter Books we read a loud in 2026 my favorite was The Girl Who Drank the Moon. We read this on audiobook while traveling and it was so beautifully narrated. A truly beautiful and engaging read. The Wings of Fire series is much more graphic than I thought it would be, violent and gory, we also listen to them all on audiobook, pre-read for your more sensitive kiddos. It was so much fun reliving classics like Anne of Greene Gables, Bridge to Terabithia, Island of the Blue Dolphins, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. A random conversation lead to a deep dive of Tourette’s and the reading of The Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus, also a great narration on audiobook. What were some of your family’s favorite reads in 2025?
📖 10 yo Favorites were:
1. Anne of Green Gables
2. Winterhouse
3. Bridge to Terabithia
📚 12 yo Favorites

Christmas whimsy at @hahnreindeerfarm! Our family Christmas whimsy at @hahnreindeerfarm! Our family had so much fun learning all about reindeer and how beautifully fascinating and complex they are. An animal that seems exotic to us, but is as common as cow in the Nordic region. The kids loved feeding and petting the reindeer, donkeys, and horses. If you’re in the Northern Colorado area add this experience to your Winter Bucket List! 🦌✨

Moms everywhere are trying to hold it together whe Moms everywhere are trying to hold it together when inside we feel like a teapot about to blow. It can feel like we’re drastically under-reacting for those us not in the heart of crisis in Chicago, DC, Portland or Los Angeles, feeling unable to move this energy in a physical, measurable way. There’s not a lot to do physically where I live. I will continue to show up in other ways but it just never FEELS enough, but ALL of it counts. ALL of it matters. When we make intentional choices to do anything in resistance, we are making change. So much thanks, and so many blessings to those there, on the ground, putting themselves in harms way, taking the physical risks. We see you. We’re cheering for you 🫶🏻

What song is your family dancing to? Music is one What song is your family dancing to? Music is one of the most powerful mood boosters, emotional regulators, thought provoker, and form of expression. It aids in ability to learn and comprehend literature and math. Dance is a powerful act of tradition, interpretation, communication, seduction, joy, integration, expression, culture, rebellion, intimacy, and self confidence. Using music in different ways daily to enhance our learning and connection is an essential part of our unschooling. Learning choreography is fun but not necessary to experience these benefits.
