Binkie Bites: Fancy Joes

By Chelsea on Tuesday, July 18, 2017

I’m an active member of the local MOMs Club chapter and we have a lot of mom bonding over simple meals and inexpensive wine. I’m not mad at the pizza and salad spread most nights. I’m more there for the company than the food. Not having to feed my littles or clean my kitchen is …

Relieve Your Family’s Stress

By Chelsea on Sunday, July 9, 2017

I love living near the beach. I know I take it for granted. It’s my favorite place to be despite my love-hate relationship with sand. Sand in my shoes, in my car, in the girl’s hair and diapers. I like a nice quiet morning sitting on the beach, drinking a coffee, watching the dolphins dance …

Wrinkled to Perfection

By Chelsea on Wednesday, July 5, 2017

Summer is the time for vacay travel, Wooooooohooooooo! I’m not going anywhere really exciting this year, but I live in a highly popular vacation destination area. Here in SoCal the weather is warm, the ocean breeze is cool, and the fashion is relaxed. I love this dress I found on StyleWe.com. The texture is already …

Taste What’s Trending

By Chelsea on Friday, June 30, 2017

Ice cream is always a favorite summertime treat. I remember my love of ice cream from when I was a little kid. My Grammy used to take my siblings and I to the grocery store, and they had a small 6 flavor ice cream cart. We would all get a scope of the Bubble Gum. …

Celebrity Sightings

By Chelsea on Thursday, June 15, 2017

I’ve lived in the LA area of Southern California for many years now. One of the things many people who have recently moved here ask me, is where to go to see the celebs? Sure you could spend the whole night at a late night variety show taping, or lunch at the Ivy. You’re always bound …

By Chelsea on Wednesday, June 14, 2017

Today has been a long Monday! On Mondays, my 3-year-old Cora goes to daycare, “just Cora” as she says, and little Bex stays home with me. Daddy is on a break from work right now so he is home with us today too. While he has been home from work I have been trying to …

Love the One You’re With

By Chelsea on Tuesday, June 13, 2017

My husband and I don’t always communicate effectively on a daily basis, but one of the reasons we have been happily together for 17 years is we listen to each other when it really matters. Becoming parents has made us both ridiculously happy. Cora is 3 now, Bexley is 1.5, and we still don’t have it figured out. With …

What does the Seven of Pentacles tell us about our What does the Seven of Pentacles tell us about our place in the resistance?

Pentacles represent work, career, material possessions and wealth.
It is an Earth card.
A strong feminine energy, grounded, stable, and fertile.

The Scorpio Full Moon is asking us to look our patterns and fears in the eye, to really sink into the shadow space and integrate.

The Seven of Pentacles is about long term investment. It asks us to converse with our fear of failure. To have patience and trust.

The last card I pulled for the collective was The Fool. It is no surprise to me that it jumped out of the deck today. The Fool is about new beginnings from fearlessness and free spirit. It’s the first card in the deck. We are on the precipice of building something new. Something the divine feminine has had in motion for centuries. Her power was taken away, her magic was concealed, and her name smeared… no longer does she sit in the quiet of the womb. She is ready. Ready to rebirth herself, embodied in our voices and collective power.

Seven of Pentacles tells us to not give up, to not be discouraged by lack of reward.

The Fool warns us not to be reckless.

To me, this message is to remind us of our collective power. As we all resist the political uprising, the spread of hate, we all must not stop creating. It’s more important now, than ever, to listen to the Divine Feminine voice inside you. Follow your intuition with unwavering trust. Take time for rest, what we are building will be so different from what we know today… our nervous systems will need to process.

What are being called to create?
Where are you forcing yourself to go with flow when you need to be paving your own path?
What stories do you need to release today for your future self?

“I love you” is sacred and has its place but, “I love you” is sacred and has its place but, when we say it all the time, it can start to blur into the background… Sometimes, we use it so often the real meaning can get fuzzy so what our children really need is to hear the why behind it.

That they’re safe.
That they’re enough.
That we see them.

That our love and safety is not conditional.
These phrases say “I love you” in a hundred different ways— and they help strengthen the bond, especially in moments when emotions run high or confidence feels low.

Try one the next time they enter the room.
Or when they’re having a hard day.
Or just because.

Write it on a napkin in their sack lunch.
On their mirror with dry erase.
Or on a post-it anywhere they’ll see it.

Keep in mind it’s not about saying the perfect thing. It’s about building the bond you want to create that fosters confidence, trust, respect, and partnership. We are here to guide them, not control them. These phrases build a foundation of safety so their safe place is always you.

Which phrase do you use already, and which one do you want to start using more?

To the mama with a baby on your hip and a world on To the mama with a baby on your hip and a world on your shoulders… we see you 🫶🏻🤍✨

Those of us in the next season, the ones chasing bigger kids through messy rooms and bigger feelings, we remember. The blur of sleepless nights. The weight of constant need. The ache of wondering if you’re doing any of it right… all while the world feels heavy and uncertain.

We want you to know, we are here to lift you up.

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. To grieve what you thought this stage would feel like. To love your babies fiercely and still long for quiet, clarity, or even just a hot cup of coffee ☕️

You’re doing magical and powerful work. Building the foundation for everything that comes next. And though the world might not always make space for your exhaustion, your tenderness, or your fire… you are shaping the future with every bedtime story, every whispered “I love you,” every boundary, every tear.

And when you wonder if any of it matters, we need you to know that it does.

We see your strength. We see your softness. We’re cheering for you.

Happy Mother’s Day, mama. You’re not just surviving, you’re becoming. And it’s beautiful to witness 🦋

With so much love,
The mamas who’ve been there and still remember.

In our homeschool we don’t use curriculum, we us In our homeschool we don’t use curriculum, we use life as our guide to learning. Our child-led approach takes pop culture, current events, the seasons, and most importantly, the curiosity of children, and unfolds it into the “curriculum”. Here’s a look back at our month of April and how our road trip to Las Vegas the last week of March unfolded. Swipe through for a more detailed breakdown —>

Deep Dives inspired by Las Vegas:
Glitter Mountain- Selenite
Museums- Ice Age, Mammoths & Sloths
Museums- History of Las Vegas
Titanic Exhibit- Titanic

Read A Loud:
Finished the last 2 books in the Wings of Fire series
The Witch of Blackbird Pond
Anne of Green Gables
Stella by Starlight

Nature and Current Events:
Statue of Liberty
Nature-
Easter
River Days
Bike Rides
Rain Play
Fairy Gardens
Said Goodbye to a Pet Rat
Attended Friend’s Theatre Performance

Play:
Legos
Play dough
Sensory play
Crochet
Watercolor

Every day in April my 5yo attended his prek in the morning, both 9yo and 11yo do Self Study. Each morning they do chores and self-led math, reading, piano, soccer skills, etc… then Project Time. 11yo projects are baking and sourdough, cooks 2 dinners a week, and 9yo does Greek Mythology and soccer.

Every month is different, and every season is different. We love that this lifestyle allows us to create a flexible and intentional schedule that works for us and our priorities. I often hear “I could never teach my kids” as a response to people hearing we homeschool- but by allowing our education to bloom in this way I’ve never had to combat or coerce my children into our “school work”, in fact, they’re often are excited to get started.

I’m okay if only like, 5 people, like me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have to live with myself, and part of that means choosing kindness, however, kindness doesn’t always look like being “nice.” Sometimes it means setting firm boundaries, especially when harmful beliefs threaten the rights and safety of others.

Heart centered truths:
-Autism is not a disease
-Eugenics is never okay
-There’s no corn syrup in baby formula
-Red dye isn’t banned in Europe
-Measles are preventable
-Mental health needs funding, not work farms
-Food safety isn’t a government conspiracy
-Aborted fetal cells are not in v@xines
-Child marriage should absolutely be illegal
-Gender-affirming care is both life-saving and affirming
-Indigenous peoples are the original stewards of this land and should be treated with respect and reverence.
-Yes, you benefit from systemic racism
-Aborti0n is healthcare
-G*n reform matters
-Religious freedom is not the same as Christian nationalism
-Due process is for everyone

Human rights must come first!

And the list goes on. I know these truths can be uncomfortable, but that discomfort is the beginning of accountability, not a reason to stay silent. Whatever you might’ve heard that made MAHA seem inspirational isn’t real. It’s okay to be wrong. I won’t be cruel, but I also won’t sugarcoat reality. We all deserve a world rooted in love & safety.

Scrunchy, woo-woo, wild & free, heart centered, mo Scrunchy, woo-woo, wild & free, heart centered, moms and aunties. Mom figures wanting to romanticize motherhood and care taking. To bake, hike, read, and bring connection and purpose into their lives, however that looks. Finding intentional moments and pockets of whimsy in each day. We want a slower, more natural, more intimate relationship with spirit, nature, and childhood, without allowing harm to marginalized people. Without the cultural need to bring others down to build us up. To find a healthy balance in a way that works for our family, that supports our needs, without judgement. To build communities of love and support for all. To be THE SAFE SPACE. #raisingkindkids

“Money can’t buy happiness…”, but it can b “Money can’t buy happiness…”, but it can buy you the tools, time, and nervous system support to live a life that actually feels like yours.

It’s okay to want more.
Not for greed.
Not for ego.
But because your most aligned lifestyle might just cost more than burnout, self-abandonment, and barely scraping by.

This (gestures wildly at capitalism)
is what the lie of the American Dream has gotten us:
Debt.
Disconnection.
Chronic illness.
School lockdowns.
Mothers silenced.
Communities unraveling.

Not in my vision.
Not in my America.

In mine, we wake slowly.
We greet the sun.
We tend to the earth and each other.
We create, not just consume.
We raise children who are safe to feel and free to dream.
We choose softness on purpose.

So here’s your invitation:
Close your eyes.
Imagine your most aligned day.
What does it feel like to wake up in that life?

Now—what’s one small shift you can make to honor that feeling today?
Start there.
Bet on you.
This world isn’t going to change unless we do.
