Binkie Bites: Pumpkin Chili

By Chelsea on Monday, October 17, 2016

I’m a chili lover! I fall into the pumpkin lovers too! Until one of our recent Mommy get-togethers I had never heard of Pumpkin Chili. The chili the other mom brought to our night was amazing and it inspired me to try one of my own. I don’t usually cook with a recipe but I …

Trends We Love: Military Details

By Chelsea on Wednesday, October 12, 2016

Military trends every few fall seasons. While camouflage print is considered a staple to many, it’s never been a print I gravitated towards. I do, however, love a good military shade of green. The button detailing on the dress is what really gives it the flare though. This dress is a great transitional piece. Shown …

Binkie Bites: Bolognese

By Chelsea on Tuesday, October 4, 2016

I feel like there aren’t many toddlers that don’t like spaghetti. If they don’t, they usually still like noodles with butter. Sometimes it’s not what you serve a toddler, it’s how you serve it. I love to have Cora help make her dinner. It gets her more excited and interested in eating. She is still too …

Moms everywhere are trying to hold it together whe Moms everywhere are trying to hold it together when inside we feel like a teapot about to blow. It can feel like we’re drastically under-reacting for those us not in the heart of crisis in Chicago, DC, Portland or Los Angeles, feeling unable to move this energy in a physical, measurable way. There’s not a lot to do physically where I live. I will continue to show up in other ways but it just never FEELS enough, but ALL of it counts. ALL of it matters. When we make intentional choices to do anything in resistance, we are making change. So much thanks, and so many blessings to those there, on the ground, putting themselves in harms way, taking the physical risks. We see you. We’re cheering for you 🫶🏻

What song is your family dancing to? Music is one What song is your family dancing to? Music is one of the most powerful mood boosters, emotional regulators, thought provoker, and form of expression. It aids in ability to learn and comprehend literature and math. Dance is a powerful act of tradition, interpretation, communication, seduction, joy, integration, expression, culture, rebellion, intimacy, and self confidence. Using music in different ways daily to enhance our learning and connection is an essential part of our unschooling. Learning choreography is fun but not necessary to experience these benefits.

🍉 there are children starving to death
🧊 being torn from their parents

feels impossible.

Impossible to keep our nervous systems steady, stay human, stay soft, stay present, stay intentional, and live like the world isn’t on fire.

We weren’t meant to carry this much stress, grief, anxiety and anger. It feels so helpless to watch this play out through the glow of our little screens.

We can only control what we can control—just 15 minutes of fighting fascism a day, then connection, community, and pockets of joy, like wildflowers pushing through concrete 🌻🤍✨

We CANNOT burn out...
We cannot look away…
We still have a part to play…
We are not alone…
We can get through this together.
