When discussing our plans for the exploration of W When discussing our plans for the exploration of Washington State we decided Rialto Beach was a MUST! In our research it was rumored to have the best tide-pools on the west coast- and we can confirm. We saw so many vibrant starfish and anemones, tiny crabs and fish, and found some epic seashells. We all thought the long drive would be worth it, and it was. . This beach is located in La Push/Forks Washington, which may sound familiar to Twilight fans as the inspiration of the location of the trilogy. The Rialto Beach Trail, Split Rock and Hole in the Wall rock, are ONLY accessible during low tides. We drove in the evening before we went out and caught the most vibrant sunset. We explored the PNW last week and we all agree tha We explored the PNW last week and we all agree that this is the Neverland of our realm 🧚✨ The moss covered rain forest is so majestic. It was the perfect place for us to visit after listening to the audiobook My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George on our drive, where a boy leaves his family in NY to go live in the Catskills and finds an old hemlock tree to hollow out. There were Hemlocks with giant trunks, trees hundreds of years old, tons of inspiration for their imagination to come to life. . When we asked for tips where to go, many suggested the Hoh Rainforest Trail, and it’s supposedly an incredibly popular trail in summertime and would most likely be over an hour wait for parking. The Quinault Rainforest was just as magical and there was not that many people there. It was also on our route to Rialto Beach…. Bryce Canyon. Second stop on our Utah National Par Bryce Canyon. Second stop on our Utah National Parks tour. We watched the weather closely the whole week up to this trip and were still met with a surprise snow storm. Oh well… the Hoodoos were pretty beautiful covered in winter white. Instead of hiking we drove the scenic route and it was pretty spectacular. We made some best efforts to see the sunset/Full moon rise, and sunrise the next morning but the clouds were a little too thick. Zion National Park 2024. Sharing the beauty of hun Zion National Park 2024. Sharing the beauty of hundreds of millions of years in the making with my children is, by far, my favorite part of our homeschool learning. 💚 Mother Nature, the original artist. The co-creator of the most intricate and sophisticated systems of life and evolution. The awe inspiring. All of her beauty in abundance in Zion! We cannot wait to go back. Everywhere you turn is truly breathtaking. Seeing the history told in the layers of canyon wall is incredible. . We went to 4 National Parks in 5 days (2 days in Zion) for our Spring Trip. Fourth graders get a free family pass to all National Parks and we’re trying to see how many we can squeeze in! . We did the Jr. Ranger Astronomy Night Walk and it was so fun and informative ⭐️ Highly recommend! The Jr. Ranger badges are super fun and easy to earn while learning a lot. .
