Binkie Bites: Banana Ice Cream Hearts

Both my girls love ice cream as much as I do. Well… they really like the whipped cream and sprinkles, I’m pretty fond of the ice cream. Whenever our bananas are starting to blacken I stick them in the fridge and we make Banana Ice Cream. There are plenty of different recipes on the internet. All you really NEED is the over ripe bananas, once blended and frozen you have ice cream. I like to add some almond milk, and Cora likes it “pink”, with strawberries. For Valentine’s Day I pulled out our heart shaped silicone cupcake molds and filled the bottom with festive sprinkles. We filled each mold with the banana puree and froze them for a little over an hour. Served them with whipped cream, fresh strawberries and a few more sprinkles. This is a great dessert for littles with low sugar. Also a great treat for those of us who like an after dinner treat.

Our recipe

  • 3  bananas
  • 3 strawberries
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • Sprinkles and Whipped cream to taste

Made about 8 molds
